We are broadly interested in the biology and ecology of marine, freshwater, and terrestrial ecosystems. We aim to translate biological and ecological theory into applied and conservation science. We combine demographic monitoring, field and laboratory experiments, physiological/biochemical tools, and quantitative tools (e.g., population modeling) to attain our goal.
As a scientifically driven team, we make decisions based on evidence and data. Using a rational and logical approach, we can answer complex environmental problems in marine, terrestrial, and wetland ecology. Nevertheless, as a team, we constantly strive to learn more and improve our scientific skills in all branches of biology.
Our laboratory team is constantly educating and communicating our advances in ecological research to create a better-informed public equipped to tackle environmental challenges. For us, supporting science literacy and communication is an objective and a commitment.
We are passionate about what we do. All our work is done to expand the ecological scientific knowledge of our environment to promote its restoration and conservation, so we can protect the only home we have ever known.
We love in-person conversations, so feel free to visit.
